Project to promote Sexual Health and Reproductive Rights among the population of the island of Bolama, in Guinea-Bissau.
The “Papia Ku Mi —Promotion of Sexual Health and Reproductive Rights” project started on March 1st, implemented by AMI, in Bolama Island (Guinea-Bissau) for a duration of 12 months.
This project aims to work on sexual and reproductive rights with the adolescent and youth population of the island, as well as their caregivers and community leaders, contemplating three components: formation of a set of reference elements on the main concepts associated with sexual and reproductive health; awareness in a school and community context, using the methodology of peer education, artistic activities, group sessions and radio programs; implementation of a referral and forwarding system for health services specialized in sexual and reproductive health.
For the implementation of the project, AMI has a local team composed of a local project coordinator, two project technicians and 1 local SRH advisor. During the first three months of the project, this team also includes an expatriate who will coordinate the training component in sexual and reproductive health.
