DHARA – Development of Health & Agriculture Rehabilitation Advancement is a women-led organization based in Jessore, southwest Bangladesh, and has been working with AMI in the Health area since 2009. This project, that was started in 2017, consists in the construction of a hospital, which includes a training institute in several different areas of Health.
In South West Bangladesh, in the Satkhira region, the nearest public hospital has a very small number of doctors and nurses to meet the needs of 700,000 inhabitants, only 1 ambulance and a very insufficient number of beds.
In this context, AMI, together with the local partner, DHARA, started the construction of a hospital in the region that will also have a training institute in various Health areas.
This project should have ended in May 2021. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the increase in the price of products, the work suffered huge delays, and it needs funding to complete.
Help us reach the €50,000 goal so that we can complete the construction of the hospital in Satkhira and provide decent health conditions for this population.
